Bill & Janet Huffor
Owners of Stubby’s Dog Wash and Grooming Salon.
While both of our backgrounds are in local law enforcement, we found our true love and passion in pets! We are the proud owners of both Furry Friends Inc (a local premium pet food and supply store) and Stubby’s. We have two children and 4 dogs we love to pieces. We are both Colorado Springs natives, both born at Memorial Hospital! We LOVE our community and participate on many local non-profit boards and organizations supporting the Pikes Peak Region. Our motto has always been “Work hard and do the right thing.”

Kami
My name is Kami and I have been grooming dogs for 21 years! I attended a formal grooming academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but I have been grooming here in the Springs consistently since 2006.
When I was 8 years old all my friends were out of town for summer. I spent that lonely time training my old dog how to rollover, jump through hoops and play dead. She was my only friend. That summer, the first Petco in my town opened and my mom and I were excited to go. We ended up buying some grooming tools so I could help keep my dog clean and brushed between her regular groomings. It was that year I decided that I wanted to be a dog groomer. Not many people end up becoming what they dreamed of as a kid, but I am lucky enough to have been given that gift.
I really enjoy grooming anything that gets a teddy bear face. I also love grooming Terriers, Westies, Scotties, Schnauzers. I love and pamper all the pets who visit me, but I have a particular soft spot for our senior friends.
Grooming is not just a job for me, it is truly a passion and I am looking forward to continuing to pamper, spoil and transform local pets for many more years to come.

Zoe
My name is Zoe, and I have been working with dogs in multiple capacities for the past 10 years. In fact, I have been an animal enthusiast and advocate my entire life. I love coming in to work each day as it offers me the opportunity to meet new furry friends as well as reunite with past acquaintances! I believe my strength in grooming lies in my ability to connect with animals to create a calm, loving space for them. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, camping, snowboarding, and surfing (that is, whenever I get the chance to travel to the beach). I simply love our team at Stubby’s. We are all passionate about pampering your pet!

Recently, I relocated to Colorado, drawn by the vibrant dog and pet culture and the stunning beauty of the Rockies. I love what I do and am dedicated to providing the best care and grooming services for our furry friends.

Danielle
Hi there, my name is Danielle. I’ve been a self taught groomer going on 20 years. I have felt a close connection to animals since I was little, growing up in rural Texas. I began my career when my parents bought a grooming and boarding facility. I started as a kennel tech/front desk admin and had the opportunity to learn from other groomers in my downtime. I enjoy learning from my peers and going to expos to take classes on everything from skin and coat maintenance to keeping elderly pups comfortable through their sessions. I’m passionate about my career and can’t picture myself being happy anywhere else. I pride myself in treating every pup on my schedule as if they were my own. I can’t wait to meet everyone and their sweet babies.

Aitana
Hi! I’m Tana and I am the Office Manager here at Stubby’s. I take care of and love your pets as if they are my own. I take pride in what I do and make sure every dog is not only loved, but also taken care of in a clean, safe and comfortable environment. I have loved animals since I was a little girl and have always had at least one dog or cat in my house. I live with my amazing family, my two beautiful baby girls, and 4 dogs. A perfect day for me would consist of lots of walks and play times, ending in snuggles from all the dogs…..of course with my kiddos! I can’t wait to meet your fur baby!

Ella ~ Monument
My name is Ella! I was born and raised in Colorado Springs. My love for animals started at a very young age, as we have always had a dog or 5 in our house. I have a real passion for poodles. My pup’s name is Oliver (also known as Handsome), a poodle mix from National Mill Dog Rescue. He is the reason why I do what I do. I really look forward to working with you and your pups and sharing my extensive knowledge about pet nutrition to help your furry friends live their best life.

Dey ~ Monument
Hi, I’m Dey! I went to the grooming academy in 2012 and have over 10 years experience. I specialize in the safety and happiness of your pet all while confidently grooming them to your standards.
My favorite dogs to groom are those with specialty breed standard cuts, Asian fusion style grooming and unique cuts that match the personality of the pet! I love anything from cute and fluffy to mullets with a mustache. I’m just happy to spend an hour or two with your baby.
As a Great Dane owner I have no fear of large dogs and absolutely adore them. I have a passion for what I do and would absolutely love to meet you and your pet!

Kirsten ~ Monument
My name is Kirsten, I have 2 beautiful children, 2 dogs : A giant schnoodle, a husky, and a cat.
I have 13 years of experience in the grooming industry and I am still in love with my career!
I am a self-taught groomer who has worked side by side with multiple professional groomers, learning new and different techniques. My favorite breed to work on are poodles and doodles, as they are breeds that can be sculpted.
For a long time, I looked at grooming as a job, not a career. Over a period of 5 years, I pursued grooming on and off. I decided to go for a Masters’ Degree in Art therapy. That way I could help people, and keep creating art. However, the degree did not provide a continuous happiness that I could hold on to. I obtained the degree and ultimately decided grooming was my path.
I am hoping that not one, but both my children will have an opportunity to learn grooming and will work side by side when l decide to open my own salon. Until then I get the honor to work with the team at Stubby's Dog Grooming in Monument, where the environment is clean and stress-free for all animals and humans.
